Thursday morning (6/15) we left Medicine Hat, AB and had a relatively short day of driving so that we could spend time at the Alberta Dinosaur Provincial Park.
We took a two hour guided bus tour with a paleontologist to visit some excavation sites. We learned a lot about the history of the Canadian Badlands on the tour. This site has the highest concentration of dinosaurs in the world. And, just think…Thirty years ago this week, the movie “Jurassic Park” was released. What a perfect time to be here!
After our visit to the Dinosaur Provincial Park, we headed to our overnight spot at Tillebrook Provincial Park Campground, just outside of Brooks, AB. Nice, quiet park. Lucy loved chasing the multitude of gophers during our evening walk. Tomorrow (6/16) we drive west through Calgary and on to Banff, AB.
Beautiful landscape!
Great introduction to the Great White North
